Single parent dating is something that can be very difficult. While dating itself can be stressful and hard doing it as a single parent adds an additional burden. No matter how much you may love your child you need to get out in the dating world and find somebody that will be a good partner to you and a good role model to your child.

The most important thing that you can do whenever you are a single parent that is dating is to be upfront. Your date has every right to know that you have a child. Some people may not mind while it may be a deal breaker for others. For the ones that do not want to date somebody with kids, it is best that you know right away.
Introductions
It is a good idea to not introduce your child to everybody that you date. No matter what age it can be confusing and the child may have trouble taking the people that they meet seriously, even the ones that do stick around. Try not to do introductions until you feel that it is serious.
Considerations
You need to not only think about your needs but your child’s needs as well. If you do not feel that the person that you are dating would make a good role model for your child then you may want to stop seeing them. You need to be with somebody that can make you as well as your child’s life better.
